The Community Action Center for Women Empowerment offers women from all ethnic and cultural backgrounds in Worcestershire a range of on-site services designed to promote confidence, wellbeing and ultimately empower and enable women to lead happy, health fulfilled lives.
Our roots lie in providing a gender specific service to women offenders and we were one of the country’s first one stop shop centres for women. We have been cited as an example of good practice in many national reports and other evidence based research.
Developing services for all vulnerable and disadvantaged women became a priority and Asha as it exists today now offers support to women from different backgrounds and cultures in the county.
Referrals come from a variety of different sources, both statutory and voluntary sector: Community Mental Health teams, West Mercia and Warks Police, West Mercia & Warks CRC, HMP Eastwood Park, GPs, housing providers, Children’s Services, substance misuse agencies and other local community agencies.
